2012 Scion TC

Scion TC

The Scion TC first smacked the pavement back in 2004. In my opinion it didn’t change much in its second generation. Watching other reviews and hearing other people talk they seem to see a difference but to me it looks like your average TC. If they did do any changing it wasn’t huge.
Styling
I just love the styling of the TC, it’s just wonderfully done. I am a fan of thin headlights and grille, which this car flaunts as it heads down the road. Then when it passes you it blesses you with elegance of perfectly places square taillights. I have always been impressed with the look of the car. Although the outside is wonderful it doesn’t quite make it to the inside. The interior looks kind of childish to me. The bubble looking rings that they call speakers on the doors don’t help along with the over-simplistic layout of the dash. Now with that out of the way the steering wheel is fantastic, one of my favorite of the competition. Another note to add is this car is not meant for five people, even though the website claims it is, but that shouldn’t bother most people. If you are looking at a car like this you probably don’t have a lot of passengers or you have another car that can seat five people.

Trims
So the TC does not have trims. Everything for the TC is buffet style and not really a lot of tech options. Most of the options are performance which I will get more into later

Power-Train
So the Scion TC has on engine available and it’s a 2.5 litter I-4 which gives you 180hp and 173lb-ft of torque.
Technology
There is not a big tech story with the TC when it comes to the inside. You can option the Pioneer Premium Audio System which gives you a nice screen which Scion says nav is available on but my tester did not have nav. The real story is the available options for the car’s performance. Scion offers quickshifter kits, high performance brakes, lowering springs, and other little things that add to the performance. The quickshifter kit makes shifting easy and there is a difference from the base brakes and the TRD brakes that you can option on.

Driving Aspects
Driving the Scion is very nice. I feel that is has a great balance of sportiness and practicality. It is easy to find the right sitting position but I must say for me the dash board is a little high but it is good that the car has an adjustable seat to lift it higher. When driving you will notice that the car steering is pretty loose, or one touch as I call it. It doesn’t take a too much to turn the wheel so you can drive with little or no effort.  The pedals car has pretty good torque on the low end and decent torque on the high-end. Overall the drive is great and it’s something you can easily use as an everyday driver and looks sporty.

Purchasing
It’s great that scion make purchasing the TC easy, the price that you see on the car is the price that you get so I can easily show you numbers that are going to be pretty accurate. So if you decided that you want to go with the TC your base price is going to be about 19,305sitck and 20,305auto. That’s about all I would do to the TC. I would leave the Pioneer Audio System because it’s just cheaper to go after market and add the Navigation to the package. I would also leave the high performance brakes and low springs because the car has wonderful brakes already.
